Orientation to Technology will provide the student with firsthand experience in everything the M.C.H.S. Industrial Technology/Pre-Engineering program has to offer. Students will develop skills in record keeping, safety, material selection, material handling, precision measurement, bench operations, problem solving, computer design, prototyping, combination separation, and finishing processes. The student will get exposure to advanced engineering programs like AutoCAD and Mastercam. Students will learn using traditional equipment as well as advanced CNC (Computer-Numerical-Control) equipment. The class is designed to prepare students for the world of work, advancement to the local community college, or a four-year university.
Here I am spreading the glue on just before aplying the veneer and putting it into a vaccum bag.
Here is the finished cut out of the long boards on the Thermwood CNC Router.
Here I am sanding the side of the long board to make them nice and smooth.
This is a picture of me rubbing the finish out with a Scotch Bright pad to get any of the imperfections out of the finish.
This is a picture of the the design that just got sprayed with Tincture and is now drying on the rack.
Here i am rubbing the Tincture of the board with a Scotch Bright pad so the Tincture only stays in the design and not all over the board.
This picture I am drilling the final holes to be able to and the trucks and wheels to the long board.
Here i am spraying the final coat of lacker to the long board finishing the project.
